Horse Bitch is a genre-defying septet from Denver, CO known for their energetic performances and unconventional songwriting. Formed by guitarist David Knodle and tambourine player Ashley McKinney in 2020, initially an outlet for acoustically driven songs about space and other nonsense, the project has since blossomed to seven members including Riley Merino (guitar, vocals), Adam Cabrera (bass, vocals), Alec Doniger (drums, vocals), Olivia Shaw (fiddle, vocals), and Caleb Amelunke (pedal steel). On their most recent release UVA, their sound continues to evolve, embracing a maximalist approach that takes full advantage of their varied instrumentation and guided by their ethos of total creative freedom without limitations. In 2026, they plan to release another full length album and continue touring across the US.
